About Supporting Colorado Aviation License Plate Bill(FAQ's)
Ask for the Aviation Plate at your local DMV, or when you renew online...
Plate is now available at your local county DMV's office. There is no donation or other item required.
1. Advise you want the Aviation Plate as this is how it shows in the DMV's system.
2. Order online or in the local DMV office during your renewal or with new vehicle plates.
3. If you turn your plates in early your renewal date will not change. You will only pay the $50 plate fee and some small tax.
4. You will keep your current plates on the vehicle until your Support Aviation arrive in the mail with the new registration, and expiration stickers.
5. Plates can take up to 10 working days to arrive by mail, but rarely take that long.
6. Personalized Special Group plates will lose the center logo - Personalized plates also carry a yearly fee that the standard Aviation Plate does not. (Special group plates are a one time charge only)

Objective of the Plate:
The objective of the plate is to raise awareness of the critical impact that aviation has on the state in all its forms.
Who can purchase the Supporting Colorado Aviation Plate, and what is the fee?
Any Colorado resident with a registered vehicle in the State of Colorado may purchase the plate. The fee for the plate will be the standard one time $50.00 fee charged by the DMV for special group plates. There is no additional fee required for the plate, unless you personalize the plate.
What do I need to take to the DMV to get the plate.
You will simply need to ask for the Support Aviation plate once the plate becomes available on Aug 6th 2018 at your local DMV.

A 2008 Colorado Economic Impact Study stated that general aviation accounts for $1.91 billion in economic activity throughout the state. The 2013 numbers show that has increased to $2.4 billion. In total, aviation supports 256,700 jobs with an annual payroll of $12.6 billion and an economic impact of $32.2 billion.
Colorado is home to 33 charter flight companies, 80 repair stations, and 16 flight schools. In addition, there are 70 fixed-based operators in the state. Additionally Colorado is home to several colleges such as Community College in Greeley, CO, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Redstone Aviation College in Broomfield.
